Authors: John Butterworth, Jean Winsor, Frank A. Smith, Alberto Migliore, Daria Domin, Jaimie Ciulla Timmons, Allison Cohen Hall The Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) are pleased to announce the release of the most recent edition of the Blue Book report, StateData: The National Report on Employment Services and Outcomes, 2014. StateData is a product of the Access to Integrated Employment project at the ICI. Funded by the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, the project has described employment and day services and outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) for over 25 years. The report provides longitudinal national- and state-level statistics that address the status of employment and economic self-sufficiency for individuals with IDD across the United States. We are proud of this long-standing and reliable data set. Data sources for this publication include the ICI's National Survey of State Intellectual and Developmental Disability Agencies' Day and Employment Services; the Rehabilitation Services Administration; the American Community Survey; the Social Security Administration; and the U.S. Department of Labor. The appendix provides a state-by-state presentation of major trends from each data set.

The ICI has served as a University Center for Excellence in Disabilities since 1967. It is affiliated with the University of Massachusetts Boston and with Boston Children's Hospital. The ICI's mission is to promote the full inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of life, including schools, workplaces, and volunteer organizations. We promote this mission through research and evaluation, training and technical assistance/consultation, education, policy analysis, pre-service training, and service delivery. In 2013, the ICI became part of a new UMass Boston graduate school: the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development (SGISD). SGISD extends the ICI's mission of disability inclusion, making it broader and giving it a more international scope. Students at SGISD examine why various populations are excluded from their communities, for reasons such as race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and poverty.
