Transition Fair: Passport to a Healthy Future (OR LEND)

July 13, 2015

On Saturday, May 30th the Institute on Development and Disability (IDD) sponsored the 2nd annual Transition Fair: Passport to a Healthy Future at the Collaborative Life Sciences Building on the South Waterfront. With roughly 150 participants, 30 vendors, and seven guest speakers, this year's Transition Fair was a huge success.

The Transition Fair was designed for adolescents who experience disability, their families, and professionals working with transitioning-age youth to learn about all aspects of the transition to adulthood. Topics presented included healthcare, employment, sexual health, special education, guardianship, power of attorney, and special needs trusts. This event was organized by two of our very own LEND trainees from this year: Christine Grosso and Maja Kohl Emerson.

For those who were unable to attend, a video recording of the presentations can be found on the Transition Fair website: www.ohsu.edu/transitionfair.
