Vermont's Life History Project Continues to Grow (VT UCEDD)

February 25, 2015

The Life Histories Project at the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion, Vermont's UCEDD, has been busy this last year collecting new stories from Vermonters with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

The Life History Project was started in 2011 to record and preserve the stories of Vermonters who have lived through and helped create major changes in services to people with disabilities. The project has produced ten Life Histories to date, in video or narrative formats, which can be viewed on the project's website.

The original stories explored the history of older Vermonters who lived in Vermont's State institutions during the last century. This year, the project staff interviewed young Vermonters, highlighting the positive energy of this new generation of Vermont self-advocates.
