Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to present a working draft of AUCD's Strategic Map for review and comment. With input from internal and external stakeholders, focus groups with directors and staff, and surveys of trainees and Councils, the AUCD Board and staff have been collaborating since early this year to identify the key strategic directions and priorities that will guide our organization and network into the future and ensure we continue to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.

About the AUCD Strategic Map

The AUCD Strategic Map is intended as a high level view of the vision, focus and priorities of our organization and network over the next 2-3 years. This map can serve as a guide for our collective work and mission as well as provide a clear and consistent message to the broader disability community and other key stakeholders. In the map, "AUCD" refers to the collective mission and efforts of both the Association and the network as a whole, which provides a solid communication tool as we seek to elevate our impact and visibility.

Feedback Requested

We would like your feedback as we round the final corner in this process! The map is intended as the 30,000 foot view, and won't capture all of the steps and actions that will accomplish the goals. The staff, in conjunction with the Board, will be hard at work in the coming months to operationalize the plan. We would like feedback on whether anything is missing at this 30,000 foot level. Are the strategic priorities relevant? Do the underlying strategies or objectives capture the big points of what we want to accomplish? Has a key role, capacity, stakeholder or other factor been left out?

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact myself or Laura Martin at the AUCD office.

I thank you in advance for participating in this important process and helping complete our strategic planning efforts this year.
