June 25, 2014

The Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD) at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland is pleased to host an education policy and management trainee this summer.

Ashley Manning Foxworth has a bachelor's degree in English, a master's degree in teaching, and a law degree, as well as two years of teaching experience in the District of Columbia Public Schools. In the fall of 2013, Ashley enrolled in Harvard's Graduate School of Education to pursue a master's degree in education policy and management. She has completed coursework in State Education Policy, The Federal Goverment in the Schools, and Schools and the Law.

Ashley will complete 150 hours as a MCDD education policy and management trainee working under the supervision of the MCDD's associate director, Maureen van Stone. Previously, as a licensed attorney in Maryland, Ashley provided more than 140 hours of pro bono legal services to Project HEAL, an MCDD community-based program, which provides advocacy and legal services to low-income children with disabilities and their families. The MCDD is thrilled that Ashley is returning to the MCDD in a different capacity, and we are eager to work on educational policy initiatives affecting children with disalibiltes in Maryland.
