Introducing AUCD's 2014 Summer Interns

June 17, 2014

AUCD is proud to welcome two summer interns to our team: Kasem Ahmed and Bertram Nicholls. Kasem is working with the AUCD Legislative team and Bertram is supporting all of our office teams. We are excited to have them both join us and contribute their skills and talents to the office and network.

Kasem Ahmed

Kasem Ahmed serves as an Intern for the Legislative Affairs team where he will be conducting research, writing briefs on specific interest areas, and attending meetings and hearings on Capitol Hill. He just completed his sophomore year at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY, where he is majoring in both Political Science and History. In his free time, Kasem enjoys playing baseball and soccer.

Bertram Nicholls

Bertram joined AUCD as an intern as a part of the AAPD 2014 internship program. He has lived in Washington, DC, since birth, and graduated from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. He took classes in graphic design, but mainly focuses on work in the Information Technology field. More specifically, Bertram works with computer set up, program work, and troubleshooting. He was also a member of the National Student Leadership Society, and participated in numerous group workshops and speaker events.

Before AUCD, Bertram worked at the Government Printing Office in DC. He worked as a summer employee under the summer job program for six consecutive years, taking up various positions within different departments. Some job work included file management, central filing, archival management, and building services. He also aids with DAB Networking, an IT agency with several different clients around the DC Metropolitan area.
