Implementing the Home and Community Based Setting Rule: <br/> An Update for the New Year

Thursday, February 2, 2017
3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. ET
Location: Webinar

Thank you to everyone who registered for the HCBS settings rule update webinar, originally scheduled for Thursday, February 2. This technical assistance webinar was created in partnership with the DD network to address questions from DD organizations about how they can best participate in their states' implementation of the rule.

Unfortunately, a scheduling conflict requires us to postpone this webinar until a later date.

We're going to start working on the calendar coordination, and we'll send a new invitation when we find a new date and time. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Webinar Description

As states move toward finalizing their plans and implementation of the Home and Community Based Setting (HCBS) requirements, there is an ever expanding opportunity for the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disability (AIDD) funded partners to increase their roles in the effective implementation of the system-change efforts underway related to those new federal HCBS requirements. Recognizing the critical role the AIDD funded partners are playing in the implementation of the HCBS settings rule, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) is collaborating with the National Disabilities Rights Network (NDRN), the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD), and the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) to provide more coordinated and comprehensive technical assistance in 2017 for entities interested in elevating their role in state implementation of the federal HCBS rule.

This webinar is part of a technical assistance process for the developmental disability networks. This national webinar is open only to DD network entities (UCEDDs, Protection & Advocacy agencies, and DD Councils) and staff from AOD/ACL and the national DD organizations (AUCD, NACDD, and NDRN).

Join representatives of NDRN, NACDD, AUCD, and ACL for an update on implementation of the HCBS Setting Rule issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) in March 2014. State transition plans to meet the HCBS setting rules were due to CMS early last year. CMS has been in the process of reviewing and providing states with feedback, initial approval, and final approval of their plans. This webinar will provide an update about state plans as well as key issues states are working to address and how DD network programs can assist as states implement the new requirements.
