In today's technological driven society, the use of social media continues to increase and impact the disability world. Social media has certainly become a means to communicate and disseminate information. This webinar will feature a panel of AUCD and Developmental Disabilities Network Partners and will discuss some innovative statewide and national collaborations.

A Webinar from AUCD's Community Education and Dissemination Council (CEDC).

 

Presenters:

Head shot of Courtney Taylor

Courtney Taylor is the Associate Director of Communication and Dissemination at the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (TN UCEDD, LEND, IDDRC), and coordinator of the Center's Disabilities, Religion, and Spirituality program and the Tennessee Kindred Stories of Disability project. She also is a board member of The Arc Tennessee.

 

Head shot of Emma Shouse Emma Shouse is the Director of Communications for the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities and has been with the Council since 2011. She has a younger brother with autism and helps lead the TN Adult Brothers and Sisters (TABS) statewide sibling support network. Emma serves as the Council's lead staff for the TN Supporting Families initiative. She graduated from Belmont University with degrees in social work and sociology and lives in Nashville, TN.

 

Head shot of Elizabeth BishopElizabeth Bishop is the Training Coordinator at the University of Tennessee Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities. She develops and administers graduate leadership training curriculum, develops and implements professional trainings and workshops per year and assists local and state agencies with conference planning and continuing education events. She also serves as the data coordinator for federal grant reporting and the ties. Webmaster/Social Media coordinator.

 

Head shot of Francisca Guzman Francisca Guzman is the Director of Development & Community Relations for Disability Rights Tennessee, the Protection & Advocacy program for the state. In this role she oversees the organization's development and communications initiatives, in addition to community outreach for the state's immigrant and refugee population.

Crystal K. Pariseau is the Director of Marketing and Public Engagement for the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD). She oversees the communications of the AUCD office, focusing particularly on social media, in an effort to increase awareness and engagement between the AUCD network and public. Crystal plays a key role in the development of special events such as the AUCD Conference and other related events as a means to inform the AUCD membership of network and federal agency activities.
