Webinar Description:

This training provides an overview of trauma related disorders as described in the DSM5 with special attention to PTSD. The relationship of trauma to signs and symptoms often observed in individuals with IDD will be described. Participants will gain knowledge about the prevalence of trauma, the impact of trauma, and implications for assessment and treatment.

Presenter:

Jill Hinton, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist who has over 25 years' experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and mental health issues. She is the Clinical Director for the Center for START Services. She also provides consultation in NC and VA to teams providing crisis prevention and intervention to individuals with IDD and behavioral health needs.
