Description:

A truly inclusive community is one in which health promotion activities are as accessible to people with disabilities as they are to people without disabilities. The outcome of inclusive physical activity communities is a society that respects and values the rights of all.  Physical activity can provide individuals with disabilities the strength and stamina required to participate in all aspects of life actively and successfully - it also benefits all adults, whether or not they have a disability, by reducing their risk of serious chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and some cancers.

As we celebrate the one year anniversary of the CDC Vital Signs: Disability and Physical Activity - United States, 2009-2012, we will highlight initiatives for promoting inclusive community health and physical activity.  This webinar will feature how two national organizations, dedicated  to the well-being of people with disabilities have  built  upon  the Vital Signs message: Physical activity is for everybody and  encouraged people with disabilities to  be physically active.
