Join us for this unique opportunity to take a deep dive into Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) policy.  This workshop will introduce trainees to discipline-relevant policy matters, with a special emphasis on EHDI reauthorization and its implications for how state programs are carried out.

Ms. Caroline Goncalves Jones, Associate Director of Federal Advocacy for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Assocation (ASHA), will be the guest facilitator.

Learning Objectives

  • Trainees will learn about the basis for federal EHDI legislation;
  • Identify and discuss key issues that lawmakers are currently considering; and
  • Work in team to develop effective advocacy strategies, includes ones that engage trainees and professionals from other disciplines
