Webinar Description:
In anticipation of the reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), representatives from six national organizations began to meet in the spring of 2012 and 2013 to discuss selected early childhood provisions. The six early childhood organizations were:
- Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children (DEC);
- Early Intervention Family Alliance (EIFA);
- Family Voices;
- The 619 Consortium;
- The Early Childhood Intervention Special Interest Group of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD); and
- The IDEA Infant and Toddler Coordinators Association (ITCA)
During a series of meetings and conference calls a number of topics in the IDEA were addressed, and many more were identified as needing examination. This webinar will present the issues covered under the topics of service delivery/natural environment; transition and finance to the AUCD network.
