This conference call was coordinated by AUCD's National Community Education Directors' Council (NCEDC).

We all are sexual beings, including people with developmental disabilities. However, statistics and experience show that many of the people we support will be sexually abused at some point in their lives. Protecting them from sexual information and experiences only heightens the danger and confusion. In this session we will explore some realities around sexual abuse and how we can mitigate the impact through teaching about sexuality and self-protection across the lifespan. Christine White has been the Legal Advocate for People with Developmental Disabilities who are victims of crime in Dane County, Wisconsin since 1999.
