Purpose

Eugene J. Tom Jr., Business Analyst at SAIC will discuss how the Discretionary Grants Information System (DGIS) collects program and performance measure data for MCHB programs.  These data help MCHB assess the effectiveness of its programs and help project officers monitor the progress made under these grants.  EJ will show MCH Training grantees how to access these data from DGIS via the DGIS web site.  Financial, program, and performance measure data can be accessed by grantees to include in reports, presentations and publications.  Grantees can also access abstracts from MCHB's discretionary grants.  Following EJ's presentation, Laura Kavanagh and Madhavi Reddy will discuss issues grantees encountered with budget data reporting in last year's progress report submission and how to improve data reporting for 2009, and changes grantees should expect with MCH Training performance measures in their FY 2010 progress report submission.  A 15-20 minute Q&A session will follow the presentations.
