It is a unique, interactive learning opportunity that brings together trainees and faculty from across the country. =0D=0A=0D=0AWho Should Attend?=0D=0A=0D=0AThis workshop is intended for LEND pediatric audiology trainees who are attending the 2016 Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Meeting and wish to learn more about the intersection of hearing loss and additional disabilities. LEND audiology faculty are encouraged to register and will be expected to facilitate small group discussions and activities.=0D=0A=0D=0ALearning ObjectivesTrainees will be exposed to clinical concepts (interdisciplinary care coordination, family partnerships, prioritizing needs and interventions, monitoring progress, etc.) that can help them more effectively serve children with hearing loss and additional disabilities.Trainees will gain and have an opportunity to apply new knowledge about how children with hearing loss and additional disabilities (and their families) access university, community, and state services.=0D=0A=0D=0ALocation=0D=0A=0D=0AThe workshop will take place from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday, March 13 at the Town & Country Hotel and Convention Center (Pacific Salon 4/5) in San Diego, California, site of the 15th annual EHDI meeting. A complimentary boxed lunch will be available to all those who register by the February 29 deadline.=0D=0A=0D=0AMaterials=0D=0A=0D=0ABefore the workshop, trainees will be required to complete three (3) selected readings, review a brief case example, and answer a set of questions about resources in their community that they could refer this hypothetical family to; this may involve seeking guidance from an audiologist or other health professionals at their home programs.
