Attendees will learn the basics of how to make an appointment to meet with Congressional representatives, and how to deliver a unified message about federally funded programs that benefit people with disabilities. Elaine Eisenbaum, MSW (AUCD Board Trainee Representative and Texas UCEDD trainee) will also share her experiences attending the Disability Policy Seminar, as well as provide tips on preparing for and making hill visits.=0D=0A=0D=0AAt the 2015 Seminar, hundreds of disability advocates from around the country will gather to discuss a wide range of public policy issues affecting people with disabilities and their families. She also provides leadership as Vice-Chair of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) Board of Directors, a coalition of more than 100 national disability organizations. Kim co-chairs the CCD Task Forces working on fiscal policy, developmental disabilities, and Autism, and serves on the Education and Employment Task Forces.=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0AElaine Eisenbaum is a fourth-year doctoral student in the School of Social Work at the University of Texas and a third-year UCEDD trainee at Texas Center for Disability Studies. Prior to entering the doctoral program, Elaine received her undergraduate degree in special education at the University of Texas and her Master's in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis.
