Students from low achieving high schools experience even higher rates of school dropout, unemployment, and underemployment than their peers without disabilities. The Ohio State University Nisonger Center is recruiting partners to scale-up EnvisionIT, an online curriculum that is aligned with national standards, prepares students for common core assessments, and assists students with developing transition plans to reach their self-determined postsecondary goals. This evidence-based transition curriculum has been designed to enhance the key 21st Century literacy skills both students with and without disabilities need for competitive employment. Through a Request for Proposals (RFP) grant process, we are recruiting schools and districts across the nation to implement, refine, and sustain EnvisionIT. To build capacity for a sustainable model, we request that teachers and administrators from Title 1 and/or historically low achieving middle or high schools collaborate with their state department of education and researchers to scale-up EnvisionIT.=0D=0A=0D=0AWebinar Objectives:=0D=0A=0D=0A1. Introduce the EnvisionIT curriculum, a web-based curriculum that is aligned with the national Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English/Language Arts as well as transition and information technology standards=0D=0A=0D=0A2. Summarize the research methods used to pilot and refine EnvisionIT thus far, including single-subject methods, experimental/quasi-experimental designs, and qualitative data collected from students and teachers=0D=0A=0D=0A3. Recruit applicants who agree to implement, refine, and scale-up EnvisionIT within and across school districts in their state through a RFP process that will award up to $99,000 to each successful applicant.
