This webinar, offered by the Autistic Self Advocacy Network in partnership with the Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health (AIR-P), will provide an overview of plain language writing for people who may be more used to writing in academic language. Attendees will learn the principles of plain language writing and have a chance to put them into practice with interactive exercises. There will also be time for questions and answers.

Summary:
The Winter 2024 installment of the Administrative Essentials Series will be an engaging Director-hosted roundtable with a focus on organizational and structural models for UCEDDs. Fellow UCEDD Directors will share insights into their organizational/structural models, staffing patterns, interaction and dynamics between their UCEDD and the LEND/IDDRC, and blending or braiding of funding. Together, we will explore creative strategies and promising practices across the UCEDD Network in this area.

All UCEDD Program Performance Reports (PPRs) are due to AIDD on July 30 annually. This webinar provides the opportunity for UCEDDs to review and discuss (1) AIDD's annual reporting requirements for UCEDDs, (2) how AUCD's National Information Reporting System (NIRS) supports PPR development, and (3) how AIDD reviews and scores each PPR.

Sexual health is an important topic for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Unfortunately, conversations related to sexual health are often not fully addressed or are pushed aside because of fear, lack of comfort with the topic, or lack of information. Join us for a webinar on the importance of sexual health for individuals with IDD. Participants will hear from Joe Shapiro from NPR and Barbara Thomas from the Tall Institute as they discuss why this sensitive topic needs to be addressed.

The Intellectual and Developmental Disability Mental Health (IDD-MH) Research Partnership identified eight priority topic areas for young adults with IDD-MH that will be reviewed in this webinar. These priorities highlight the importance of community-based options, choice, autonomy, and control for young adults with IDD-MH. We will also share our recommendations to advance research, policy, and practice in areas important to young adults with IDD-MH.
