Training and Networking Opportunities on Ending Violence Against People with Disabilities.  This fall, the AUCD network has the unique opportunity to hear presentations by two leading international authorities on the issue of ending violence against people with disabilities.  Speaking at the annual Training Symposium during the AUCD Annual Meeting and Conference, Dr. Dick Sobsey and Dr. Patricia Sullivan will address the challenges of confronting this serious problem, history of national efforts, status of research on this issue, ethical issues, and effective intervention and training strategies.  Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.  Additional networking opportunities will be provided, including: 

  • October 30: Special Interest Group (SIG) Meeting is scheduled;
  • October 31: Conference Poster Session & Display highlighting the efforts of UCEDDs and LEND programs in addressing this issue; and
  • Several related concurrent sessions, including a follow-up workshop by Drs. Sullivan and Sobsey.
