2007 Research Topic of Interests Opportunities
AUCD is pleased to announce three new Research Topic of Interest (RTOI) opportunities in the areas of Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI), Emergency Management Services for People with Disabilities or Chronic Diseases, and Down Syndrome Health Education through our cooperative agreement with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Letters of Interest (LOIs) for the 2007 AUCD-NCBDDD RTOIs are now being accepted!

Visit 2007 RTOIs for project descriptions, study focus, length of project, and funding amounts.

Please note: The deadline to submit a LOI for RTOI 2007-01 (EHDI) and 2007-02 (Emergency Management) is February 9, 2007. The LOI for RTOI 2007-03 (Down Syndrome Health Education) will be due on February 19, 2007.

New NCBDDD-AUCD Fellow
AUCD is pleased and excited to announce that Dr. Georgina Peacock will be joining CDC's National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) as the Behavioral Science and Health Education (BSHE) Fellow on February 26, 2007. Dr. Peacock will work primarily with health care professionals in outreach, partnership, and assessment for the "Learn the Signs, Act Early" Campaign.

Dr. Peacock received her Doctor of Medicine and Master in Public Health from University of Kansas. She has spent the past three years working with parents, primary care providers, and child care workers to identify and care for children with autism and other special health care needs in Kansas and at the Centro Ann Sullivan in Lima, Peru. She is also a former LEND trainee who completed her Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship at Developmental Disabilities Center at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
