Project Description
The Educare model of early childhood education is a promising strategy for closing the achievement gap at school entry between young children in poverty and their more advantaged peers. This achievement gap can be observed as early as 9 months of age and, if left unaddressed, only widens over time.

Educare's initial evaluation results support the idea that when we access and target available resources to promoting the healthy development and school readiness of our most vulnerable young children, the achievement gap can be significantly narrowed at kindergarten entry.

The present study is a randomized control trial to experimentally evaluate the Educare model's outcomes.
