AAIDD 136th Annual Meeting

The 136th annual meeting of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD), Research*Practice*Policy, will be held June 19-20 with pre- and post-conference sessions on the 18th and 21st. The conference will provide information on cutting edge research, effective practices, and policy initiatives. Plenary sessions, panel presentations, special interest group meetings, poster presentations, and more make this conference a great opportunity for sharing expertise in the areas of research, practice, and policy relevant to promoting improved outcomes for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. AUCD Pre-Con Workshop 3: Incorporating a New Self-Assessment Process on Self-Determination in Plan Development for UCEDDs

This pre-conference workshop focuses on a new UCEDD Self-Determination Self-Assessment Checklist developed by the National Gateway to Self-Determination: National Training Initiative. It will also provide strategies and resources for using this checklist to incorporate self-determination in the development of UCEDD 5-year plans.

Health Frontier for Intellectual Disabilities

This three-day conference includes today's most crucial health topics surrounding people with disabilities. Day one will focus on understanding health status and access as well as the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities. On day two speakers will discuss training needs and the proper treatment and care for individuals with disabilities. Day three will include topics such as community and family supports and encouraging health and supports.

YAI Network's 32nd Annual International Conference "Bridges to Success in Developmental and Learning Disabilities"

The 35th Annual TASH Conference

The 35th Annual TASH Conference will be in Denver, Colorado - December 7- 11, 2010. The conference will focus on encouraging inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the workplace, at school and in the community. The conference will include several half-day workshops such as, "Supporting all Young Children within Inclusive Early Child Programs," "Designing Individualized Behavior Support Strategies," and "What Does the Future Hold? Making the Transition to Support Adulthood" plus a self-advocate forum and community living sessions and more than 150 peer reviewed sessions.
