Dian Baker, PhD, APRN-BC, PNP, is the School Nurse Program Coordinator at California State University Sacramento (CSUS).  She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing from 2009-2011.  She serves on the CEDD Executive Committee and the Training Committee and as a liaison to the Schools of Nursing at both CSUS and UC Davis.  She plays a lead role in:  1) Providing pre-service and continuing interdisciplinary education and training for school nurses on inclusive services for people with D/OD, and 2) projects to reduce health disparities, including a community outreach project to the Southeast Asian community and the Community Engagement Project.  For the Southeast Asian outreach project, Dr. Baker has developed partnerships with the Hmong Women's Heritage Association and the United Iu-Mien Community, Inc. in order to study  barriers to quality care among Southeast Asian communities, with the goal of improving health care and access to services for children and adults with developmental and other disabilities in these communities. She is taking the lead in providing CEDD support to the Community Engagement Project at the UC Davis Centers for Reducing Health Disparities and Clinical Translational Science by adding participation from the disability community and helping to provide an inclusive voice that will engage and influence the direction of this participatory research project.
