Vita/Bio
Dr. Reinhartsen is an associate professor and experienced speech-language pathologist. Her interests focus on assessment and treatment of individuals with developmental disabiltiies and complex communication challenges. She has managed several training grants focused on providing training, consulation, and technical assistance to service providers and families of children with severe communication and physical impairments, and has authorded publications related to children with disabilities. Currently, she is involved in a number of different projects that include an epidemiological study of children with autism, providing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) assessments and consultation for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, and training interdisciplinary autism and AAC assessment teams across the state. She also is a principal investigator for a project assessing access to services in NC for adults with intellectual disabilities.
