Vita/Bio

Dr. Sloane has been a practicing physical therapist since 2009 receiving her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia. She began practicing in orthopedics following graduation and has now specialized in pediatrics for the past 9 years. She has completed a pediatric residency program at Oregon Health & Science University in 2014 where she has continued as an assistant professor.  Dr. Sloane co-directs the OHSU Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency Program/ LEND Physical Therapy Training Coordinator and is an APTA Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist. 

 

Dr. Sloane co-directs the Go Baby Go Oregon community program. Her involvement with this community program spurred interest in research surrounding early mobility and adaptive physical activity. She is currently a PhD Student at Oregon State University in kinesiology/adaptive physical activity. Her further research interests are in the areas of using assistive technology in physical therapy practice, and studying best practice techniques for children with a diagnosis of craniofacial disorders, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and hemophilia. Dr. Sloane has a strong interest in global health and works yearly in Merida, Mexico to provide physical therapy services to the local community.
