Sherlock Responsibilities: Provide support to parents and professionals in the following areas: understanding the unique learning needs of students with sensory loss, augmentative and alternative communication systems, material modification, curriculum adaptation, meaningful inclusion of students with severe disabilities, and information and access to resources.

Key Experience

Technical Assistance:
Provide support and information to parents, teachers and support staff on issues related to vision and hearing loss, alternative and augmentative communication, material modification, adaptive devices, and teaching strategies to support student learning.

Presentations:


Guest speaker at the New England College of Technology (Occupational Therapy Program), and at Rhode Island College (Special Education Program). Present on issues of dual sensory impairment and its impact on learning.

Director of Child Care Program: 

Director and Assistant Professor of the Child Care Program at Bristol Community College. Developed and taught two courses in special education. Supervised student field placements through classroom visits and conducted a weekly seminar class to support and enhance the field placement experience.
