Personal statement: I am a professional, dedicated, and qualified teacher who hopes to build on the experience I have gained by working in the University system. I believe that caring, respectful bonds with children and their families are the vital foundation for a wonderful school experience.

Experience
February 2017- Early Interventionist, ​Minot Infant Development Program Present Minot State University, Minot, ND One of the most important roles interventionists play is serving as an interface between families and other service providers. In this role, the interventionist helps the family navigate the intervention system and helps coordinate the communication between therapists, social service-providers, medical personnel, and the educational system. An interventionist is also responsible for providing direct services for children in the early intervention program. Services are provided in different settings including classroom, home, and center-based programs. Additionally, an early intervention specialist works as a team member to provide developmental and educational experiences for children to improve sensory and physical ability, cognitive development, and emotional stability.

Fall 2012- Teacher, ​Kindergarten/Preschool May 2017 Newburg United School, Newburg, ND Developed and created lessons that focused on the core subjects, as well as physical, academic, social, and emotional growth. Incorporated hands-on activities and fun manipulatives to accommodate all styles of learning. Worked closely with Special Services to help students receive speech and other therapy services. Worked on the Advanced Ed board for the school district. Attended many workshops to help the professional development grow.


Fall 2011 Student Teacher, ​Grade 1 Dakota Elementary, Minot Air Force Base, ND Designed and implemented lesson plans for children at different learning levels. Utilized a variety of instructional methods including cooperative learning, games, discovery, and discussion. Assessed student learning modified lessons to create meaningful, authentic learning for students. Actively participated in school events such as workshops, leadership meetings, open house, in-service, and faculty meetings. Administered standardized tests and assisted cooperating teacher in parent teacher conferences.

Spring 2011 Practicum Student, ​Grade 4 Washington Elementary, Minot ND Constructed lesson plans along-side the cooperating teacher and the MSU advisor. Tutored students after school with homework help. Evaluated and graded students work for implemented lesson plans.

2009-2011 CLC Aide, ​Minot Public Schools Roosevelt Elementary, Minot ND Educated elementary age students in a before and after school program. Maintained a positive learning environment while enhancing and enriching student's educational ability.
