Dr. Roberts  became a licensed physical therapist in 1996 and worked at the VA hospital until she moved into pediatric physical therapy in the public schools in 1998. Dr. Roberts completed Oklahoma LEND training in 1999 and became instructional faculty for OKLEND in 2000, providing a practicum experience in the public school system for long-term OKLEND Interns. Dr. Roberts completed her Master's degree in Rehabilitation Science in 2001, with a thesis study on parents' perspectives on school-based therapy services for their children with disabilities. Dr. Peters chaired the OT/PT department at Putnam City schools and spearheaded the development of a parent resource fair. She became a certified Assistive Technology Professional in 2013 and coordinated a new district-wide assistive technology program. In 2015, Dr. Roberts received a Doctor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma. She studied how the OKLEND program influenced graduates. Dr. Roberts worked with the OKLEND program as a consultant and program coordinator from 2015 to 2017 and became the OKLEND Training Director in 2017. She has increased the use of technology in the program and helped to expand the program to participants in Tulsa, 90 miles away from the Oklahoma City campus using distance learning strategies.
