Vita/Bio

Dr. Gabrielsen was recruited to Brigham Young University in 2013 as an Assistant Professor of School Psychology in the Dept. of Counseling, Psychology and Special Education. She comes to BYU from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where she completed an internship in autism and clinical psychology. While there, she trained in the Feeding and Swallowing, Sleep, ADHD Treatment, Family Stress and Illness, and the Regional Autism Center clinics. She then completed a clinical Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Center for Autism Research at CHOP. Dr. Gabrielsen's research is in early identification of autism spectrum disorders and interdisciplinary training. She has also worked extensively in social skills interventions for autism. Her work at CHOP included training of staff and outreach to parents to improve hospital visits for children with autism, including the development of learning modules and a pathway for care. Dr. Gabrielsen is a graduate of the University of Utah, is a licensed psychologist, licensed educator (school psychologist), and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She was a URLEND trainee and was a LEND Fellow at CHOP.
