2008 - Present        Coordinator of Autism Education Initiatives, CEDD at the MIND Institute, Sacramento, CA

•·         State Liaison for the National Professional Development Center - Autism Training and Technical Assistance Grant. 

•·         Coordinate a statewide, multi-agency advisory group directing activities to carry forward the recommendations of the Legislative Blue Ribbon Commission on Autism and the Superintendent of Public Instructions Autism Advisory Committee.

•·         Develop training modules for parents and professionals related to implementing evidence based practices for learners with ASD.

•·         Participate in other projects related to the UCEDDs missions to provide excellence in developmental disabilities to the community.

2003-Present           Founder and Director of Professional Development, Autism and Behavior Training Associates

•·         Provide In-service training on autism, applied behavior analysis and related topics statewide to school districts, county offices of education and SELPAs.

•·         Conduct and coordinate multidisciplinary program reviews for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

•·         Provide behavioral assessment and consultation to students with ASD and other significant behavioral challenges.

•·         Develop, write and edit professional publications on Autism Spectrum Disorders, Best Practice Teaching Strategies and practical strategies for working with students with autism and other behavioral disorders.

•·         Provided staff development, policy review and input, program development, behavioral and program/student consultation to LEAs within the SELPA.

•·         Chaired the Positive Behavior Supports workgroup, a group of Psychologists and Behavior Analysts providing services in Yolo County.

1999-2003                    Program Specialist for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Butte County SELPA

•·         Provided coordination and leadership to the SELPA Autism Collaborative.

•·         Consulted with district staff regarding multi-disciplinary assessments of students suspected to have or already diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

•·         Trained and consulted with families, teachers, specialists and paraprofessionals in appropriate interventions, curriculum and teaching methodology for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

•·         Provided training and consultation in the adaptation of curriculum and delivery of services to meet the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

•·         Conducted functional behavioral assessment and developed positive behavior support plans for students with ASD.

•·         Implemented, trained and evaluated the programs of preschool students with ASD receiving ABA programming.

1997-1999                    Behavior Analyst, ALTA California Regional Center.

•·         Conducted quality assurance reviews of behavioral and educational services and programs provided to consumers of the Regional Center.

•·         Participated as a member of a multidisciplinary clinical team, assessing and determining appropriate services and supports for individuals with developmental delays and autism.

•·         Participated in committees and community advisory panels to develop collaborative services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

•·         Evaluated and monitored the Functional Analysis Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans developed by vendors for consumers of the Regional Center.

 1992-1997               Assistant Director/Teacher, Applied Behavior Consultants, a Non-Public School for                                                   Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

•·         Developed curriculum and behavior support plans for students with autism and severe behavioral disorders in a non-public school setting.

•·         Conducted functional analysis assessments and developed behavior intervention plans for students being served in public school settings.

•·         Trained and supervised para-educators working with ASD students in a variety of settings (home, school and community).

•·         Conducted parent training, teacher in-services and community trainings on autism, behavior and related topics

•·         Provided administrative support to the Director including developing protocols, policy, procedures, interviewing and reviewing staff on an annual basis.

•·         Developed curriculum and taught a class of 6-10 year old students with ASD.

 1989-1992                    Intern, Applied Behavior Consultants/California State University Sacramento/UCLA Early Autism Project.

•·         Provided early intensive behavioral therapy to student's with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

•·         Provided direct instruction and implemented positive behavior support plans with preschool aged students using Applied Behavior Analysis in intensive behavioral intervention programs.

•·         Collected data on target skills and behaviors and reported data to supervising behavior analyst.
