Service: Ann Trudgeon is the director of the Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council, a partner agency of the University Center for Excellence, Center for Learning and Leadership, funded by the U.S. Administration on Developmental Disabilities. The Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council is a small state agency that has as its mission to promote quality services and programs that enable persons with developmental disabilities to fully realize their maximum potential through increased independence and productivity, as well as through integration and inclusion into the community.

As Executive Director, responsible for all program functions of the Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council, a small, federally-funded state agency with a mandate of advocacy for and with persons with developmental disabilities through systemic and strategic planning; public and private agency and organization collaboration; project and research development, funding and evaluation; and policy planning and development. 

 

Functions include the management of Council staff, budgeting, accounting, contracts negotiation and other business services.

 

As Grants Manager/Grants Planning, developed the federally-mandated State Plan for Developmental Disabilities, a strategic planning document that outlines the Council's goals, objectives and activities for the defined period in federal law.  Worked with state agency and private organization personnel to plan and implement innovative model demonstration projects and research projects that would serve persons with disabilities in the community.  These projects were focused in the areas of employment, child development, education, transportation, health, housing, quality assurance, recreation and early intervention.
