Vita/Bio

My interest in working with people with disabilities began after high school when I had an opportunity to support individuals with disabilities in a residential setting. I worked in that field for four years while attending Weber State University where I was studying healthcare administration. In the spring of 2006 I finally graduated in healthcare administration with an emphasis in long-term care. Following graduation, I finished 1,000 hours of internship at the Sunshine Terrace Foundation as an administrator in training.

After completing my internship I took the NAB exam to obtain my health facility administrator's license. A couple months after obtaining my health facility administrator's license I got my first administrator's job at Cache Valley Assisted Living in Providence, Utah. About a year later, I saw the Bear River Activities Skill Center (a day and respite program for adults with disabilities) director position opening and decided to take the opportunity to apply. That is where I am today and enjoy very much the work I do as the director of BRASC (now known as the Developmental Skills Laboratory-DSL).
