Hal C. Lewis is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics, University of Colorado School of Medicine and a licensed psychologist since 1986. Dr. Lewis received his B.A. Magna Cum Laude from Yale University, his M.A. from the University of Denver, and his Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 1984.

Dr. Lewis has focused his career on children (and their families) with neurodevelopmental disabilities and/or developmental psychopathology. He has extensive clinical, research, and program development/evaluation experience as well as a skilled commitment to training/mentoring (since 1983 he has supervised well over 50 interns and post-doctoral fellows and scores of externs). Dr. Lewis served as Training Director for the Clinical Psychology Division of UC Denver from 2002-2007 during which he time authored and directed a 4 year HRSA grant to increase training in health psychology methods for underserved populations. Other training projects Dr. Lewis has authored and directed include: an OSERS training project in interdisciplinary approaches with medically fragile infants and toddlers with emphasis on inclusive child care options, the "Western Region Faculty Institute for Training" (a regional early intervention personnel preparation effort funded by OSEP), three Colorado efforts--the "Parents with Disabilities Needs Assessment", the "Dual Diagnosis Surveillance and Needs Assessment", and the "Traumatic Brain Injury Needs Assessment and Action Plan". Dr. Lewis co-authored the OSEP BRAINSTARS demonstration project for students with acquired brain injury and most recently co-authored and co-directs the OSEP personnel preparation program "Preparing School Psychologists to Serve Students with Traumatic Brain Injury". For the past 3 years, Dr. Lewis has served as Psychology Discipline Director for the CO LEND project developing coursework, supervising trainees' work in clinics and practicum sites, supervising trainees' applied research efforts, and mentoring preservice trainees at extern, predoctoral intern, and post-doctoral fellow levels.
