Vita/Bio

Lisa Bannwarth, Ed.S. is a training associate and school psychologist with the Autism Spectrum Disorders Program at the Center for Disabilities. In her role, Lisa participates in the ASD diagnostic clinic, provides consultation and training to professionals and families, and assists in ongoing research and pre-service training. Bannwarth received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Creighton University and her educational specialist degree in school psychology from the University of South Dakota.  Bannwarth has experience in public school systems, residential settings, and special education facilities. Bannwarth has provided comprehensive psychological services for individuals with a wide range of disabilities. She has experience providing psychological and educational evaluations, behavioral intervention plans, social skills training, and academic interventions. She has also provided consultation and training to professionals on a variety of mental health and educational issues.

 

Bannwarth’s past academic research explored play complexity in young children. She previously participated in an ASD diagnostic clinic and in designing interventions programs for children with autism spectrum disorders. She is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the South Dakota Association of School Psychologists (SDASP).
