The 2010 AUCD Annual Meeting and Conference provides a special opportunity to share your interests, talents, and perspectives with others in the network and our partners. We look forward to receiving your submissions and your subsequent participation in the conference. Below are the materials you will need as you prepare to submit your application.

It is the policy of AUCD that all Annual Meeting presentations and handouts be accessible to all participants. Format guidelines for slideshows, speakers, and handouts are defined below. Unless otherwise arranged with AUCD, all presenters should bring their own copies of materials for use in their presentation. Any presenter who does not have handouts in appropriate accessible formats will be asked not to reference the materials in their presentation.

Proposal Evaluation

Proposals will be evaluated on the following four categories:

1. General Relevance to the Membership
   1. Is the proposed topic relevant to the AUCD membership? 
   2. Does it reflect at least one of the interests of the network: research, education, and/or service?
2. Effectiveness of Information Delivery
   1. Will the proposed method of information delivery be an effective way to communicate the information?
   2. Is there a clear plan for how the session time and/or space will be used?
3. Addresses an Emerging Issue of Likely Interest
   1. Is the proposal a 'hot' or 'up and coming' topic in the disability field?
4. Represents Important Scholarship or Analysis in the Field
   1. Does the proposal report on recent findings or analysis that is 'cutting edge' in the field?

Invitation to Present

The 2010 AUCD Annual Meeting and Conference provides an exciting venue for sharing your latest information in disability research, education, service, and policy. For this year's meeting, we are especially interested in learning more about:

• Models of service or training that operate at large units of scale -- national, multi-state, state, and large regions within states
• Collaboration and partnerships that promote the scaling up of effective practices
• Contributions of new technologies to training, services, and dissemination
• The role of cultural competence and diversity in the widespread adoption of innovation
• Ensuring quality in scaling up
• New considerations for research, such as assessing fidelity and cost-effectiveness
• Universal design as a strategy in going to scale
• Encouraging innovation and the push to discover the next important innovation
• Developing the leaders who can implement large-scale change

These topics are not intended to be limiting. The 2010 AUCD Annual Meeting and Conference is a call to look at ways to increase the impact of our work - to better understand the spread of effective practices and to ensure that they endure. We welcome proposals from the entire AUCD network and its partners, including individuals with disabilities and their family members, faculty, researchers, program directors and staff, students, policymakers, administrators, and advocates.

Too much of what we want for all still occurs only in pockets of excellence around the world - with leadership contributed by too few and constant pressures to compromise quality. There are few greater efficiencies in our field than building on the ideas of others, learning what to do and what not to do in developing programs, and gaining invaluable insights into what works and why.
