Description

The persistence of disappointing outcomes for individuals with IDD demands new and effective pathways for changing the post-high school landscape. We present "community conversations" as a promising approach for identifying community assets and opportunities, as well as spurring systemic change in local communities. We describe this approach and its core components; illustrate its applications to employment, educational, and independent living; and highlight how they can inform policy and practice.
