Description

This research compares fluctuations in unemployment rates and the rate of persons with and without a disability leaving the workforce during and after the 2008 financial crisis. Such an examination reveals that in recovering from the crisis, unemployment rates for persons with disabilities failed to improve for two years while persons without disabilities saw steady recovery, indicating a discrepancy in the recovery of employment opportunities after economic crises.
