Children of minority backgrounds receive their diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) late. Mixed methodology was used to study diagnostic and functional challenges of African American preschoolers with ASD. In addressing the intersection of minority status and disabilities, results of the study are presented along with considerations for advocacy, assessment, intervention, and professional practice to promote social change.Back to Session: Poster Symposium: Diagnostic and Clinical Services
