Description

This project explored factors contributing to health disparities among individuals with I/DD seeking emergency psychiatric care. Medical staff of a university-based ED and psychiatric inpatient unit were surveyed regarding their levels of knowledge and attitudes towards groups of patients and types of interventions used with challenging populations. We analyzed the data to identify disparities within emergency psychiatric care to better understand experiences among those with an intellectual or developmental disability
