Description

This presentation describes the results of a 6-week brief intervention, Project Step Up, designed to reduce alcohol misuse and its negative consequences in adolescents with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). Parents attended separate but concurrent sessions. This manualized treatment, designed specifically for individuals with developmental challenges, was effective in reducing alcohol misuse and its high risk consequences. Teen and parent satisfaction with the treatment was highly positive.
