AUCD - Pre-Conference Workshop 2: Critical Opportunities: Screening of Young Children for Developmental Disabilities

<< Back to Program

Sunday, November 17, 2013 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Location: Mount Vernon Square B

Session Description

This workshop offers the chance to chat with CDC about ways to address gaps on screening children for developmental disabilities while interacting and having some fun! The Critical Opportunity Session is a method of soliciting ideas, with lots of audience involvement. There will be 2-3 experts on a panel that critique 5-6 critical opportunity contestants who pitch their ideas. CDC identifies experts from among those who are already attending the conference and does some preparatory work with a selected small group of panel experts and critical opportunity contestants. CDC will finalize the panel and contestant participants in late October. This type of interactive workshop would be of interest to the EIEC, Autism, and Health & Disability SIGs. CDC use the feedback shared during this workshop to develop policy research priorities. This workshop offers a unique chance for the AUCD Network to collaborate with CDC.

This workshop is coordinated by the CDC, National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities.
