Session Description
For more than 25 years, Apple has provided new and innovative solutions for people with disabilities, allowing them to access - and enjoy using - the Mac, iPad, iPhone, iPod, and Apple TV. During this session, we will be exploring the many ways Apple has implemented accessibility features into its hardware and software offerings. We will also examine how the platform has allowed 3rd party developers to create some amazing apps with value to the special needs community. And we will hear real-world usage strategies for iPads in the special needs classroom.

Sarah Herrlinger is a Senior Marketing Manager in Apple's education division and eight year veteran of Apple Inc. After three years as a Senior Product Marketing Manager in Apple's consumer applications division, Sarah joined Apple's Education team to focus on Special Education and the use of Apple technology among diverse learners. In this role, Sarah collaborates with special education leaders to create resource materials such as the Apple Technology for Diverse Learners Guide, works with Apple product teams to encourage the continued effort to meet the needs of diverse learners, and can often be found delivering accessibility presentations at national and international conferences.
