<< Back to ProgramEpidemiology Principles and Practices for Disabilities Research
Sunday, October 31, 2010 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Location: Potomac Room I
Session Description
In this workshop we will explore the application of epidemiologic study designs and principles to the study of disabilities. We will identify secondary data sources and evaluate the utility of selected databases for disabilities research. As we examine the cross-sectional, case-control, and cohort study designs, we will emphasize the importance of population-based or externally generalizable studies, and discuss the design considerations, analytical approaches and methods, and commonly encountered study implementation challenges.
Participants are encouraged to bring hypotheses or study questions for group consideration of most suitable study designs and data sources.
