The Center for Disabilities Studies (DE) partnered with Art Therapy Express Program Inc. to host a workshop to create artwork for the CDS annual report calendar. The event brings together people with disabilities and their families, undergraduate and graduate students, volunteers, and an art therapist to promote accessible art programs.
Community Inclusion through Theatre for Adolescents and Young Adults with Autism

Lauriann King, M.F.A., Senior Program Therapist, Center for Development & Disability, UCEDD/LENDThe presentation will describe an innovative theatre project for adolescents and young adults with autism that led to community inclusion; a collaboration between the University of New Mexico and a local theatre organization. An overview of the process and examples of modifications and supports will be presented.
